Pretty amazing piece I came into this last weekend.
Chinese SKS 7.62×39 – With Matching Registration of War Trophy Firearms and Military Temporary Export License
Rifle Condition – Fair – with no original finish remaining – Light surface pitting is present over most of the rifle. The rifle function checks in working order. Bore is Fair – some light pitting but shiny through most of the barrel. Non Matching Bolt and Stock.
Paperwork Documentation;
1. Temporary Export License from Vietnamese Customs and the Asiatic Command Provost Mashal’s Office Military Customs
Document Shows two Chicom 56 (Chinese) Rifles for Export to the US – as it pertains to this rifle #2 Type 56 Shows Serial #11398949 matching this rifle. Document lists the solider as 1st LT Ralph Fensis of MACV Advance Team 8.
2. DD Form 603 Registration of War Trophy Firearms
Paperwork shows 1st LT Ralph Fensis of MACV Team 8 Registered a Chicom Carbine Type 56 Serial #11398949 7.62 from “Communist China” in November of 1972.
